ServisKotlovBB.sk: helping my father get his first customers
A website built to help my father launch a new business this year, gas appliance installation and service, after decades as an engineer helping friends informally. The job was simple: make a trustworthy person look trustworthy online.
A new business, not a new hobby
My father spent his career as an engineer, and for years he helped friends and neighbors with gas installations and repairs on the side. Early this year he decided to turn that into a real business. That meant customers who didn't already know him, and for work like this, that starts with being found online and trusted enough to be let into someone's home.
Make a trustworthy person look trustworthy online.
Gas work is safety-critical. Before anyone calls, they're deciding whether to trust a stranger with something that goes seriously wrong if it's done badly. The site's only job was to make that decision easy.
The idea in two illustrations, not screenshots: local search connecting strangers to someone they can trust with the job.
What the site does
The navigation surfaces trust content directly: About, Services, Price list, Certificates, FAQ and where to find him, sitting in the main menu rather than buried in an "About us" essay nobody reads. The homepage opens with what he actually has: 20-plus years of hands-on experience, the relevant certifications, and exactly who he serves, households and small businesses, before any sales pitch.
The page is built to scan in seconds on a phone, since that's how almost everyone finds it.
Skills this shows
Credibility markers sit right under the fold: experience, certifications, who the service is for, before any sales copy.
First customers
The site went live in early 2026. It's a new business with no history, no reviews yet, nothing but the work itself to point to. A few months in, it's started ranking in the top three to five results for the searches that matter in the area, and it's brought in his first real customers: people who found him online, called, and became paying jobs.
First customers, from strangers who found him online.
Top three to five for the local search terms that matter, a few months after launch, for a business that had no online presence at all before this.
The visual direction
The trust the copy argues for needed to show up visually too: dark navy and steel, real material photography over stock icons, and simple certification badges instead of decoration.
The material and color direction behind the site: navy, steel and copper, with restrained trust badges rather than decoration.
How it's built
I built this one myself, entirely with AI, end to end. It's intentionally simple: plain HTML, CSS and a small amount of JavaScript, no framework, nothing more than a site like this actually needs.
For local search, the priority wasn't tricks. It was speed, correct on-page structure, and a Google Business Profile that matches the site exactly, so a new business with zero history could still show up for the searches that matter.
Have something worth building?
I'm interested in senior product, product design and hybrid leadership roles.
